The Road Runner

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. Proverbs 25:11

Senior Spotlight: Anabelle McClellin

As a graduating senior, PubClub had a lot of questions for Anabelle McClellin.  When asked what her plans were after high school, she said, “I plan on attending one year of community college. During that year I will raise funds to attend a 6 month DTS (Discipleship Training School), which will teach me about God and about serving and evangelizing to the community.” Anabelle also told us about her family. “My family is composed of my older sister, Alyssa, and my “baby brother” (Alex).” When asked where she would go if she could travel in Time, she said, “I would want to go to the 1960s and meet Martin Luther King Jr., and watch his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech.” Anabelle described her perfect day as “probably a day with my small group where we all grow in Christ together, study scripture, be accountable and pray.” A couple of things on Anabelle’s bucket list are to “go to India/Africa for missions and write a book.” Anabelle shared with us, “I greatly admire this amazing woman. You may not know her, but to me she is my world. She has shown me what it looks like to be strong in the midst of the greatest trial. She shows me how to lead others and love others the way Christ loves her. Her name is my mom, who is Mrs. Candice, and she is the bomb dot com.” When asked to tell us about herself, Anabelle replied, “I wouldn’t call myself your average teenager. My Instagram doesn’t have a theme and my twitter game is really lacking, but I do have a 279 day snap streak and growing, which has to count for something, right? I am a firm believer that capital letters are ugly and that living with less will make your life more. I’m a coffee lovin, ice cream eatin, bible readin kind of girl who is always on the hunt for a good Christian book and a window with a sweet view to sit by and read. Also side note about me, I’d love to convert a van to live in and become a nomad. I have never felt at home being pushed into a mold where people told me who to be or how to act, so I decided I wouldn’t. One day on the roller coaster of my life this dude came and wrecked everything. He ripped the life I knew into pieces and turned it into a beautiful masterpiece. His name is Jesus and following Him has been the best decision I’ve made in my life. ^that’s just some stuff off my blog I feel really describes me.” We really feel that this shows the heart of Anabelle.
