The Primary Academy of MRBC is an educational program including kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. It is operated as a non-profit ministry to the children and families in our community.
We use an integrated curriculum that is based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). The curriculum is appropriately designed for kindergarten and 1st grade children and includes Biblical teaching. We believe that a child absorbs their concept of God from people, things, and experiences that are a part of their environment. Thus, a love and appreciation for God, Christ, and the things God has made are stressed through appropriate hands-on activities and lessons.
Curriculum is designed to help each child develop in all facets of their life…physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
Special Classes and Activities
Bible Story and Scripture Memorization:
Each week your child will be introduced to a new Bible story and memory verse.
Fitness and Nutrition:
Every other Monday, we have a fun, energizing exercise class just for kids. They will also learn about healthy eating and muscle groups during this class.
This is a fun and interactive beginning level Spanish class.
Special Field Trips:
We will have field trips occasionally, that correspond with what we are learning in the classroom.
The purpose of the Primary Academy at Matthew Road is to extend the ministry of Matthew Road Baptist Church, by providing education and development for each child enrolled to his/her greatest potential. Our goal is to have a program that allows children to grow and develop as Jesus did- “In wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52)

We can accept only well children. We are depending on parents to help us maintain this policy for the welfare of all children. Children should be fever and symptom free 24 hours, without the aid of medicine, prior to coming to school.
Your child will be sent home only with persons known by the staff to to be authorized to pick up the child, unless you give us direct permission for someone else to do this. Please be prepared to show identification.
Our teachers are crucial to the quality of our program. We want to be sure we are building the secure and trusting relationships needed for a child to thrive. Our teachers have been chosen for their love of teachers have been chosen for their love of teaching not only academically, but also spiritually. They are sensitive to the individual, and recognize that each child is unique.
Our teachers are degreed teachers. They have many years experience in classroom settings.
For added security, all staff are required to have background check and have been CPR/first aid certified.
