Description:
Students will begin their study of Spanish through reading, writing, speaking and listening utilizing the online platform, Encuentros. Students will use this software to learn vocabulary, grammar, and cultural tidbits as they engage and interact with the language several times a week. Students will meet for class one day a week at which time they will cement their learning, practice their conversation skills, and show mastery of the material they have learned through the platform.
Requirements:
Students will be required to complete online language assignments which are composed of listening, speaking, writing, and reading the Spanish language. Students should expect to spend 1-2 hours on these assignments 3 times a week. In addition, students will need to study and prepare for weekly class quizzes which count for 30% of the overall grade. Learning a foreign language requires much effort and work, and time must be spent learning the new concepts.

Grades:
Grades will be assessed through online assignments and assessments and class quizzes and projects. Upon successful completion a student will earn 1 Foreign Language credit.
